Recently, Kim Pollard was astonished to find out that one of her business idols out of New York, Tory Johnson, an award-winning business leader, national network television contributor, public speaker, and best selling author selected her as a Spark & Hustler Daring Doer!
Tory’s website describes Daring Doers:
- An audacious person filled by wild passion & sheer determination
- Rarely bothered by sleepless nights, she keeps her engine running on pure adrenaline and a commitment to doing good (serving her target market) and doing well (profiting big time)
- Never to be confused with an ordinary small business owner, she’s defying the odds, making money and building an empire of her own
Thanks Tori for recognizing that Kim certainly fits your description of a daring doer! Kim plans on hanging out at your 3 day Spark & Hustle Program in Dallas later this month & encourages her women business friends to join her!

The Bookkeeper Girl participates in every way possible to support the Denton Chamber of Commerce because she sees the benefit of her association.
She has been a sponsor for the New Member Orientation held monthly by the Chamber for the new members at which time, they learn about the many services available to them through the Chamber. At the same time, the Bookkeeper Girl is able to enlighten the new Chamber members about her business, so it is a win-win situation.
On January 13, 2010, The Bookkeeper Girl sponsored a booth at the Green Business Conference where attendees and sponsors alike learned more about innovative and low-cost ways to become more green, find out how being green can increase profit margin, and how being a green business can be functional and profitable. Some of the ways in which Bookkeeper Girl is a green business are: using double monitors (eliminating the use of paper); recycling magazines donated from clients and staff to senior citizens through assisted living and senior care facilities; the on-line bookkeeping procedure is web-based, so is paperless and also allows instant contact for clients from afar, meaning no car travel; using tele-conference as much as possible to eliminate driving, wasting time and paper; turning off all equipment at night to save electricity.
Bookkeeper Girl participated in the Business to Business Expo on April 29, 2010, where businesses have the opportunity to promote and showcase their business services to other Chamber members and community persons. Attendees number in the thousands for this worthwhile event.
Staff members of Bookkeeper Girl serve as Ambassadors for the Chamber of Commerce and are regular attendees at ribbon cuttings, after hours mixers, quarterly membership meetings, workshops, and breakfast and luncheon networking meetings. This enables the staff to make new contacts and get acquainted with new businesses and to be visible for others to keep the name and services of Bookkeeper Girl on their minds.

In an effort to help women of all ages and walks of life, “Clothes Coach” Becca Bowen creates wardrobes for them from what they already own. She then makes a photo album of the outfits so they can dress for success and pack effortlessly every day. Becca is a very satisfied client of Bookkeeper Girl.
Becca hosts private trunk shows for her clients with proceeds going to their favorite causes – either their “wardrobe wallet” or their favorite charity. The Bookkeeper Girl has been supportive of this effort and attends the trunk shows in Dallas. In doing so, Kim Pollard has met and connected with so many other women in business which has widened her circle of contacts for the bookkeeping business.
In addition to the trunk shows, Becca has formed a way for women to meet other women in a fun-filled atmosphere for a stress-free hour or two. This event, called “Sassy Sisters” can be viewed on www.MeetUp.com-SassySisters.
Becca also provides organizations with “real-world” wardrobe seminars for all ages, taste and price ranges. Becca can be contacted at www.BeccaBowen.com or Becca@ClothesCoach.com. Telephone: 214-924-0271

Doing a good thing for society can earn you a free period of relaxation and pain relief, thanks to Bookkeeper Girl Inc.’s newest program.
Bookkeeper Girl Inc. is proud to announce the continued expansion of one its most cherished activites: the magazine donation drive to support our area elderly and nursing homes. Each week, Bookkeeper Girl Inc. donates recently used magazines to area elderly homes. Bookkeeper Girl Inc. not only donates the company’s own magazine subscriptions but also collects magazines from its participating clients who drop their gently used and read magazines into a weekly tote bag that is picked up by a Bookkeeper Girl Inc. staff member.
The donation efforts assist our elderly in helping them stay up to date on their interests in anything from cars to finance to entertainment and women’s issues. Whatever magazines are donated, there is surely an elderly reader who can’t wait to read it without having to pay a dime. The program is also beneficial to our environment as the magazines are reused and recycled instead of simply being thrown away.
Starting in June, Bookkeeper Girl Inc. will hold a drawing each month of companies and individuals who participate in the program by donating their magazines. The winner of each monthly raffle will receive a free massage to Massage on the Square, the latest massage spa on the historic square in Denton, TX.
So what are you waiting for? Contact us today to get involved by donating your magazines while helping our elderly and our enviornment and perhaps even winning a free massage in the process!

Here’s a clip from our latest press release:
LOCAL BUSINESS WORKS TO SAVE THE ENVIRONMENT AND BETTER HER COMMUNITY AT THE SAME TIME
Female Owned Business Creates Magazine Recycle Program to Benefit Elderly, Among Other Practices
In addition to her standard eco-friendly business practices, Kim Pollard, owner of Bookkeeper Girl Inc., has combined environmentalism with community involvement with one of her latest projects. Every week, Bookkeeper Girl Inc. rounds up her company’s magazine subscriptions, as well as those of all of her clients who participate in the program, and donates them to local retirement home facilities.
The result is hours of free reading for area senior citizens who have otherwise been facing subscription fees or magazines that are long out of date. The organized effort produces magazines for readers looking for almost any genre of topic. The weekly event not only brings joy to the elderly of surrounding communities but also helps save the environment as well as the magazines are recycled for new readers.
Bookkeeper Girl Inc. has always focused on being environmentally friendly. The bookkeeping firm focuses on online bookkeeping, minimizing the need for paper as well as car travel to a central office. Instead, all clients are able to submit their information electronically, and when receipts or printed material are necessary, they are placed in eco-friendly and reusable tote bags which are picked up by Bookkeeper Girl Inc. employees. Clients easily place their magazines in with their receipts and other documents each week, maximizing donations and ease of giving while minimizing a carbon footprint. Bookkeeper Girl Inc. has also taken the cause to sponsoring recent Green Business Expo events. And in difficult economic times, it also works to reduce costs, allowing Bookkeeper Girl Inc. to transfer the savings to low rates for her clients.
As Bookkeeper Girl Inc. expands across the region and the nation, Kim Pollard hopes to expand the magazine program as well, reaching thousands of elderly residents across dozens of retirement communities. With the help of her clients and other members of the community, that goal is quickly being reached.
